BEGIN YOUR RENEWAL PROCESS →Why Begin With The Biblical Counseling Academy?
Because Biblical Counseling Is Built on Relationships
This structure reflects the International Association of Biblical Counselors' (IABC’s) relationship-based approach to certification. Biblical counseling is more than completing requirements and receiving a credential—it is ministry carried out, learned, and practiced within accountable relationships.
That's why IABC works with approved training centers like the Biblical Counseling Academy.
The International Association of Biblical Counselors (IABC) is the certifying organization responsible for maintaining certification standards and granting active credentials.
The Biblical Counseling Academy (BCA) is an IABC-approved training center that provides training, guidance, and relationship-based support for counselors renewing their active status.
**IABC and BCA are two separate organizations that work together to help you complete your renewal process.
Your Path Back To
Active IABC Status Â
The Renewal Path is designed to be straightforward.
Enroll With BCA
Enrollment gives you access to the refresher course and the resources you will need to begin the process.
Refresh Your Foundation
Complete the designated refresher course to revisit foundational biblical counseling principles.
Reconnect with BCA
Reestablish your biblical counseling relationship with BCA as your approved IABC training center.
Complete the
Renewal Process
Move forward with the remaining IABC steps necessary for renewal.
BCA will help guide you through the process and communicate with IABC as needed.
Return to Active
IABC Status
Once the renewal requirements have been completed, BCA will personally endorse your status to IABC for final review and approval.
But the relationship doesn’t end there...
Renewal Is a Beginning, Not an Ending
A credential can recognize what you have completed. A relationship helps you continue growing.
Our goal is that your return to active status would be more than an administrative renewal. We want this process to reconnect you with people who can encourage you in biblical counseling and help you remain faithful to the ministry God has entrusted to you.
Through IABC's and BCA's network, counselors can remain connected to trusted biblical counseling relationships and local ministry communities long after their initial certification.
We don't want to simply help you renew. We want to help you reconnect.
