Seminar Outline
SESSION 1
GOD'S DESIGN FOR COUNSELING
"His name will be called Wonderful Counselor” (Isaiah 9:6). The Scripture lets us know that the Lord is to be our counselor. This is the anchor truth in counseling.
SESSION 2
THE FOUNDATION - THE WORD OF GOD
The Word of God is our foundation for life and godliness. It is living and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). In biblical counseling, we rely fully on the sufficiency of Scripture to address the heart—not human opinions or theories. God’s Word is enough.
SESSION 3
THE PROCESS - THE WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is not an optional part of the counseling process—He is essential. Jesus said, “When He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth” (John 16:13). Biblical counseling depends not on our wisdom, but on the Spirit’s power to convict, comfort, and guide.
SESSION 4
THE PRACTICE - SEEKING THE TRUTH IN LOVE
Scripture calls us to counsel in love (1 Corinthians 13; John 13:34–35). True ministry is not only about truth—it is truth spoken with compassion. Grow in practical skills for listening well, asking wise questions, and pointing people to Christ.
